Prospect Park is a 585 acre greenspace in Brooklyn that offers a respite for the concrete buildings of Manhattan. This park was designed by the designers of Central Park in Manhattan. The park includes 90-acre Long Meadow, Prospect Park Tennis Center, Prospect Park Zoo, an Audubon Center, a nature conservatory, a visitors center, and a hall for parties, a lake and Prospect Park Bandshell - the location of outdoor concerts in Brookln. Other amenities include basketball courts, baseball fields, and soccer fields.
Brooklyn Botanic Garden is in the Prospect Park neighborhood. It features the Steinhardt Conservatory, specialty gardens, plant collections, plant pavilions, an aquatic plant house and an art gallery. The conservatory features C. V. Starr Bonsai Museum which houses a collection of dwarfed, potted trees. Robert W. Wilson Aquatic House features tropical water plants, orchids and insect-eating plants.
